These character designs are front-line correspondents for a sci-fi project I’m currently calling “Exodus”. Think: end of Earth, colony ships and monsters everywhere.
The characters were loosely inspired by the film “This War of Mine”. I’m a sucker for movies about journalists, and figured I’d love to see that focus in a futuristic setting.

It was also a great chance to experiment with a process I like to call line-bashing. Basically using the “Find Edges” filter in photoshop, to quickly knock together photos for line drawing. It allows for some of the benefits of photo bashing, but you’re less reliant on finding the perfect photos as you’re going to redraw it all anyway. Big fan of the process. Again, anything to save time .
